Arrested Adventure (from Lac)

After being arrested by the Greyhawk Watch, we were taken to the Grand Citadel and put in the basement level. We were relieved of our weapons and left for the night. During the course of the evening, strange dark creatures, no taller than gnomes, were creeping around our level. They were making their way towards our possessions.

Ervis claims that, in a vision, he saw a guard open the door to our cell. Some of us escaped and attempted to stop these small black creatures. The dwarf ended up tackling one of them and I managed to charm a few of them myself. Needless to say we were able to subdue most of them by the time the Citadel Watch caught out of our sell trying to get our possessions back.

We were escorted to what I assume was an interrogation room where we were greeted by the Lord Mayor, Nerof Gasgal himself. The more we tried to explain what happened, the worse it got. The paladin managed to spill the beans about our mission. I know the Lord Mayor...he is not a man to be trusted. That could be bad.

Arkandy visited us next and through some of his own work managed to get us out of the city. I sure hope they let us back in! *sigh* After some discussion, we decided to make way to Hardby to begin our journey to the Lorship of the Isle, where we will hopefully find the second piece of this ancient puzzle.

The caravan traveled south down the main road. Our paladin sensed an evil presence which led us to a cave of giant trolls. We fared better than I would have thought. We took four of them down before the other three ran off. Catching them on fire is tricky, but effective! They also had an amazing hoard of treasure, with much gold, some jewelry, a wand and some very small magical chain mail armor.

That night, the fun continued. Ervis and Dequerda saw a flash from the distance which Ervis investigated. He saw what he thought was the Deathmaster conversing with another dark figure in a strange language. The dark creature attacked. During the battle, three members of our party mysterious fell in the middle of combat without taking any damage. We don't know what that thing was and we never did find the Deathmaster.

We finally make to Hardby and were able to resupply. The paladin bought some new full plate mail armor and was able to give his old armor to Dequerda. With the dwarf's new armor and Theodis's new wand, we shall be a party to be reckoning with.

In my defense, I was trying to do the right thing and bail us out by being honest. My alignment won't let me lie and I didn't give specifics. All they know is there are three items and we are hunting them. I didn't give locations or anything like that, so PLEASE don't exile me from the group! I thought I was doing the right thing by being honest, given the circumstances when we were falsely arrested.
